Wheels O' Time Museum is located at 1710 W Woodside Drive, Dunlap, IL 61525 and houses an eclectic collection of vehicles focusing on regional transportation tradition. Everything related to the topic of vehicles from autos, trains, airplanes, tractors, fire trucks and bicycles to vintage clothes, toys, clocks, tools and musical stuff, is presented in the museum. In addition the facility provides space for family entertainment and having a great time.
The museum was founded in 1977 and since then has grown much. It turned from a single building into a complex of five buildings with the total display area of 30,000 square feet.
The museum is closed to the public during six months because of high prices for heating and cooling, though the museum continues functioning and creates appropriate conditions for maintenance of vehicles.
In addition to a rich vehicle collection the museum offers a wide range of objects relating to social life in connection with automotive industry in the central Illinois.
The exhibits are grouped into the following displays:
Antique and collector cars
Fire trucks, airplanes, bicycles, clocks, tools
Farm and Caterpillar equipment
Steam locomotive and train
Grandma’s kitchen, vintage clothing, toys
Dioramas, Lionel layouts
Music machines and devices
There are outdoor displays as well: Rock Island steam locomotive, TP&W Caboose, Milwaukee Road Combine car, Stationary steam engines, Pullman RR cars, Working windmill and Plymouth switch engine.
The museum is open during 6 months: May through October
Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 5:00 pm
