Manual transfer of a motorcycle route to a Garmin using GPX data

On Tourstart you can transfer a motorcycle route to a Garmin by installing the Garmin Communicator and with a single click transfer the route to your GPS.

In case you will like to make a manuel transfer to you Garmin GPS, you can follow this procedure.

  1. Find the tour you will like to have on your Garmin
    On the tour you click on the "Download GPX data"

  2. Download the GPX file to your computer
    Here is a screen shot using FireFox browser to download the motorcycle route in GPX format

  3. Find the motorcycle route on your computer
    The GPX file is now stored on your computer, and you need to find this so it can be transferred to the Garmin GPS.

  4. Copy the tour
    Now you need to copy the tour.
  5. Paste in the route file in the Garmin folder
    The GPX file now needs to be pasted in the correct Garmin folder. The folder marked "1" called GPX is the destination folder for the route.
    Once opened the folder, then paste the tour using the functions:

  6. Disconnect Garmin from the PC
    Now you can safely disconnedt the Garmin from the PC, and start-up the Garmin and find the tour using the same procedure when transferring with the Garmin Communicator.
