AMA Vintage Motocross National Championship Series Rd1
The AMA Vintage Grand Championships benefit the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, which is a nonprofit charitable organization. The organisers name the racers of the the AMA Championship as the most enthusiastic riders in the world and their participation makes the competition very prestigious and highly recognised.
This year Vintage Motocross racing will be expanded on more cities including Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky and Indiana, so there will be more chances to take part in the races.
The AMA Vintage Grand Championships are held in such categories as motocross, hare scrambles, trials and road racing. A round of the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Championships will be also a part of the motorcycle event.
Riders in motocross, hare scrambles, trials and road racing will compete for AMA National No. 1 plates.
Designated A classes in each discipline earn points toward the event’s two highest honors: AMA Track Racing Vintage Grand Champion and AMA Off-Road Vintage Grand Champion. In addition, a Senior class rider will be honored as the AMA Senior Off-Road Vintage Grand Champion for his or her performance in designated A classes in motocross, hare scrambles and trials.
Individual class champions and the Vintage Grand Champions are invited to the end-of-year AMA competition banquet honoring all AMA National Champions.
Riders under 18 can compete in motocross, off-road and dirt-track events at the AMA Vintage Grand Championships. Riders must be 14 or older to compete on a motorcycle with a displacement more than 250cc. Riders 16 and older can compete in the Roadrace events at the AMA Vintage Grand Championships.
The first round is taking place on the 18 May, 2014, at Action Sports Moto-Park, Athens, Ohio.
